Well, it has been coming for a while... change. And not only am I embracing it, I have been striving to make this change for a very long time. I am taking a little break from writing in order to take on a new adventure, at least for a season, but I will write again.
For many years I have wanted to return to college to study in a scientific field, in part to satisfy my passion for science and exploration, and in part to learn to credibly study creation science. It is a subject that I am passionate about, and have wanted to pursue for a long time. An opportunity to return to school to finish what I attempted to do (with a different perspective) over twenty years ago is now before me, and I am jumping in with both feet.
Of course, with the changing of seasons comes a changing of priorities. For the next several years I won't have much time to focus on writing my books. As the farmer allows his fields to remain fallow from time to time, I must let this field rest. I will still write blog articles when I can. My new book Salt on Fire should be releasing soon. I only have a few more things to finish in my latest novel, The Pirate Africa Smythe, so I may get it realeased by summer.
In the mean time, if you are reading this I ask for your prayers as I embark on this journey. There are many considerations, from setting up tuition payments, to ensuring that my family does not end up with an absentee father in the process. It will be a balancing act to be sure, but we are faithfully and prayerfully taking the leap together.
